Unexpected Days Off
Thursday: Rushed around at work getting stuff done because I knew I was taking Friday off to watch Brandon (no school that day). Got some last calculations done right at COB and off to pick up the Bubba...and was starting to not feel that hot. Went to bed with a low grae fever of about 99.
Friday: Sick. Fever of 101. Tried my BEST to not get Brandon infected. Showers, hand washing, etc. Bubba actually let me lay on the couch and dose in and out while he just played or watched Disney channel like the good boy he is. He wrote me notes telling me he hopeed I would feel better and that I was a great daddy. Gotta love that! We played some of his favorite games later. Once he was in bed, I decided to push it a bit and took a hot shower to push my body to burn the bug.
Saturday: Fever gone! Weak, but no longer sick. Ran around cleaning the house for the showing that day at 2:30. went shopping for VV-day stuff for Btrandon's class and for Jen from Brandon. Got home and played some more plus had Daddy-Brandon Home theater Snuggle Movie Night.
Sunday: Felt much better. Did lots of playing with Brandon. Wrote valentine cards with him. Towards the end of the day...he has a low grade fever. Aww shit. By 8 pm it is 101.
Monday: Monitor Brandon all night and dose him with more Children's Tylenol. Fever goes as high as 102.7 when the med wears off. That plus the winds gusting at over 50 mph makes for a long night. Confirm with Jen that Brandon is staying home and that I'll watch him. Called his doctor who said wait it out and don't worry until it is 104. He crosses 103 a few times. He is drinking lots of fluids, eating a little, and is very chatty when the meds are working. NO pain or aches, just the fever. Field some calls from people at work.
Tonight will be another night of keeping an eye on his temperature plus switching over to Children's Motrin. I had already planned on taking Tuesday off (no school for Brandon again).
If he hits 104, we are going to the e-room and that is all that is to it...
